Tonight, his pajamas of choice were covered in boats, sailboats, submarines, and anchors. While I am dressing him, he was trying to tell me something about jumping in the water. I was only half-listening and nodding because I could hear Holt in the living room starting to stir. As he often does, he kept repeating himself until I acknowledged what he was saying. However, the only thing I could catch was about him jumping in water. This seemed pretty random since he hasn't been swimming in several months now. So again, I just nodded. Once his PJ's were on, I got it as he started to point out the boats and submarines! Since he was covered in boats, he was now portraying himself as a vessel. He then proceeded to "jump in the water!" (aka jumping up and down while doing the swimming motion with his arms)
As I tossed him in his crib, I kissed him, and told him, "Good night, puppy."
"No! I submarine!"
"Okay, sorry. Good night submarine! I love you!"
(Notice he is still displaying remnants of the recent encounter with the blow dryer.)
