Redeeming the 31

I blogged here about Adam's 31st birthday and how it went nothing as planned.  Today, I tried to redeem it.  Things did go much better this time.  You see, on his first 31st birthday, I had arranged for one of our youth, who happens to be a dear friend, to fill his car with balloons and write all over his windows.  Since I went to the hospital with Hawkins the night that she was to come, I held her off.  Then, it rained for like 3 days.  I finally gave her the green flag last night.  So his car was stuffed with balloons and it looked like this when he went to work very early this morning:

On his birthday, I had arranged for one of our employees to pick up donuts for him.  This is something that Adam arranges for all other employees.  However, since it was raining on his birthday, he notified everyone to not come in on his birthday.  So, we redeemed that as well.  Wes showed up with donuts for everyone and a special lemon filled one for the birthday boy.

Then, tonight I cooked him rack of lamb.  I have never made lamb before, nor had I really ever eaten it before.  We had a feast!  I found an awesome recipe for rack of lamb and happened upon an onion gratin recipe.  I also served some rosemary herb bread and a side of asparagus.  The meal was A.MAZING!!

And we finished the evening with a Lemon Yogurt Cake with Blueberries.

eating my slice to take a picture)

Happy 31st, sweetheart!  You are THE best thing on earth and I am SO thankful we get to grow old together.
